SHOUT: FIRST CALL is a creative work in progress dealing with the topic of sexual assault of children, emphasising it's importance in public discourse. Performative gesture strives to break the silence surrounding the topic and to rid the civilization of viewing sexual assault as part of survivor's identity. Statistically speaking every fifth person has experienced some form of sexual assault in their childhood, most of which have occured inside family circles or by people the victims feel close to. Survivors are still not sufficiently protected by law and the topic is marginalised by society.

Therefore the performance approaches the subject of sexual assault with the method of devised theatre, questioning ethical patterens in our society and trying to de-stigmatise free speach about the experience of assault. The performance encourages open dialogue about the subject of it's research. 

There are two parts to the event; theatrical performance and open-form talk with the audience. Does art have a transformative potential in our society? Can theatre traverse the boundaries of deeply rooted prejudice and question our identity? Project SHOUT is set to be ever-evolving with the purpose of becoming a platform for creators and their audience to speak freely about taboo topics.
