We invite you on Monday, October 20 at 7:00 PM to the event The Spirituality of the Desert Fathers in Today’s Techno-Civilization.

The event is organized as part of the festival Košice Hanus Days.

It will take place at the Faculty of Theology in Košice, at the Catholic University.

What does it mean to be a Greek-Catholic today? To be proud of one’s ancient liturgy, liturgical language, chants, traditions, and ancestors... but how can all of this be integrated into a holistic life in a techno-digital Western society — one that was shaped by Latin Christianity but is now severing itself from its roots? How can one live as a Greek-Catholic authentically — both in America and in Slovakia — not merely in a liturgical or "museum-like" way? How can we practically bring the experience of the Desert Fathers and the monastic tradition into everyday life? In what ways is the Greek-Catholic Church unique within contemporary Catholicism?

The event will be in English and will be simultaneously translated into Slovak.
